Privacy Policy

EnglishJO is an educational application for students whose accounts are created and managed by their school or teacher. This policy explains the information used to provide the service.
Information we process
- Account information: username, display name, role, student identifier, and account status.
- Device information: the device name may be recorded when a user signs in for session security.
- Learning information: lesson selections, practice progress, difficult or developing words, and exercise results may be stored on the device or associated with the student account.
- Voice input: when a student uses a voice exercise, microphone audio is processed by speech-recognition services to produce text and evaluate the answer.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate students, deliver assigned learning content, provide exercise feedback, preserve learning preferences and progress, secure accounts, and maintain the service.
Voice and microphone data
Voice input is used only when the student starts a voice-enabled activity. Audio may be sent securely to Apple speech recognition and to the EnglishJO transcription service to convert speech into text. EnglishJO does not use voice recordings for advertising or tracking.
Sharing and tracking
EnglishJO does not sell personal information and does not use student information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate authentication, hosting, and speech recognition, or when required by law.
Retention and security
Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Local learning information is separated by authenticated user. Information is retained only as needed to provide and secure the service, subject to the school’s account-management requirements.
Children and schools
EnglishJO is intended for supervised educational use. Schools and teachers control account creation and should provide the app only to authorized students in accordance with their policies and applicable law.
Your choices
Microphone and speech-recognition access can be disabled in iOS Settings. Students or guardians may contact their school administrator to request account assistance or deletion.
